West Central Mission is Tomorrow

Reminder

West Central Elementary School Work Day is tomorrow - Sunday August 1st 6-8pm.
We need everyone available to please come out. this is a tremendous opportunity to engage the city and build gospel relationships. as an added bonus the school system is sending officials to check out this first church effort and the Globe might even be there to document the whole thing for the whole area to see. Lets make our presence felt in a huge way by loving and impacting our culture as the world watches. Just like Jesus taught us in matt 5 - what a great and gracious opportunity from God!!

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. " - Jesus Matt. 5:14-16

This coming Sunday August 1st from 6-8pm we will be having a work day at West Central Elementary School (just off west 7th street in Joplin). We will be readying the school for the fall semester by doing some basic work around the school as we seek the good of the community. Everyone is welcome to come help us love and serve the faculty and students of West Central.

ENGAGE: New Series Begins This Sunday August 1st 2010

Our year long look at Matthew's Gospel continues this week. Join us this Sunday August 1st at 10am as we dive back into Jesus teachings about what it is to be a Follower of the Way. In five major teachings throughout the book of Matthew Jesus unpacks what it means to be a disciple. Following the Sermon on the Mount (series available for download at mysterychurch.com) we delve into his second discourse in Matt Chapter 10. What is the mission of every Christian to be? What does it look like to live our lives on mission and what will it ultimately cost us? Find out starting this week as we Engage Christ, as Community in the City.
